Adult Programs

Designed for Geisinger Residents and Chamber members, the goal is to teach adulting basics to younger employees. This concept and program are being developed in partnership with Geisinger Medical Education in response to a SWOT analysis done by the residency programs. We hope to teach skills and help the residents connect with other young professionals and the community.

The Community Outreach & Leadership Track (COLT) is a program for PGY1 and PGY2 Geisinger residents in training in Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, and Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine expected soon). The goal of the program is to develop leadership skills and expose participants to community needs. These physicians then see a holistic approach to prevention and treatment by improving the health of the communities in which their patients live.

Established in 1992, LCP (our flagship) is a nine-month program designed to identify, educate, involve, and motivate a select group of area citizens for positions of leadership. Its goals are to seek individuals from a broad range of geographical, institutional, and economic backgrounds with an interest in and ability for assuming effective leadership roles in their work and communities.

This foundational skills program is currently offered to those out of work looking to enter the workforce or improve their work situation. We have partnered with the Gatehouse and local employers to offer this certificate to help connect real people with life-sustaining wage jobs that are in-demand.
