Susquehanna Valley United Way Launches Drop-In Center - Aug 31

A brand new space will open on August 31st at the Susquehanna Valley United Way (SVUW). The Wellness Hub, a brand-new resource and recovery drop-in center located in the rear of the SVUW office at 228 Arch Street in Sunbury, aims to assist those in recovery seeking resources to assist them with their futures. Weekly hours at The Wellness Hub will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm-4pm. Guests can expect a welcoming environment with the opportunity to learn about different resources available to them, and personalized interactions. Staff at SVUW, all of which are Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS) or Certified Peer Specialists (CPS), will run the new space.

Kick-off Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month with Service 1st - Aug 31

Join Service 1st FCU for a Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month Kick-off Event in Danville on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Guests can enjoy raffles, drink specials, and the debut of Going Gold Lager. The event aims to raise awareness, inspire community support, and remind local children and families battling cancer that they are not alone. Thomas Beaver Free Library Fall Event- Sept 1

The Learning Den is designed as a dedicated space for homeschool families, all dual enrollment, distance learners, and traditional learners are welcome to join! Centered on autonomy, play, and discovery, kids can dive into hands-on STEM activities, open-ended crafts, and relaxed social time with peers. Every Tuesday (Beginning August 25) 1:30–3:00 PM Thomas Beaver Free Library (317 Ferry St.) No cost, no registration, ever!

Jazz Artist Endea Owens Performs with her Ensemble at the Weis Center - Sept 17

Save the date for Ronald McDonald House Day at the Bloomsburg Fair on Tuesday- Sept 29

On Tuesday, Sept 29th, 1$ from every Bloomsburg Fair general admission ticket will go toward supporting the Ronald McDonald House of Danville.

Bloomsburg Children's Museum is in Need of Stuffed Animals- Now through Sept 30

The Bloomsburg Children's Museum is in need of stuffed animals for an upcoming class at the museum. Clean, new or gently used stuffed animals may be donated at the Bloomsburg Children's Museum now through the month of September. They are open Mondays - Saturdays from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. (Please note: They will be closed 9/12/26 and 9/22/26.)

The Fall Foliage and Halloween Train Rides are Back - Oct 18

On Saturday, October 17, DBI and the Bloomsburg Public Library will offer three train ride excursions. The family-oriented Halloween train rides last only a little over an hour and are at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. These trips have plenty of child-centered activities including music, costumed characters, and a Halloween costume contest. Each train car will have one first place winner in the costume contest. Four Geisinger hospitals have been recognized for high performance in the 2026–2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital rankings, with two hospitals ranking among the top in the state. Of the 4,400 hospitals evaluated, 43% received any kind of award and only 16% earned a numerical ranking in a state, metro area or medical specialty.
