Department of Labor Receives Chamber Feedback

Last Friday, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce successfully submitted the comments from almost 200 associations, chambers of commerce (including the Columbia Montour Chamber) and businesses to the U.S. Department of Labor opposing the recent proposed regulation which would redefine how to classify employees and independent contractors under the Fair Labor Standards Act.  The big picture: the proposed regulation is biased towards finding employee status, and therefore will upend millions of successful, legitimate independent contractor relationships.
